- Vrak the Scarred was finally paid in full – the gray ooze settled the company’s whole debt to him at once, by eating him. He died owed nothing, holding the light, reaching for a gem still stuck in the wall.
- Morrigan went under a zombie’s fists the same night, which was an insult – she crossed every pit in the maze with a torch in her teeth and deserved a better monster. With both of them gone, the leftover Monday company was retired.
- Irulan went down covering the retreat and never woke up. Her chainmail, her yew holy symbol and her elvish longsword all went to Bancroft, who did not want any of them on those terms.
- Clarisse was lost in the dark during the same retreat and died sometime in the night. Nobody knows where. Her lamp is still burning down there somewhere.
- Fantasia Heavy fell off a rope twenty feet from daylight, carrying the rope ladder up on her back so everyone else could climb out. She had one hit point for the whole ten days she was alive and she insisted, to the end, that she was a dragon.
